RONAN, MONTANA: Deloris Ann Angermeyr died March 31, 2004. She was born November 23, 1915 to Rudolph and Marie Wentura. She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota at Morris, and spent her college summers as a hotel lodge waitress at Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park. She was a longtime elementary school teacher. After retirement, she joined the Peace Corps and taught English in the Philippines. Later, she was a volunteer for the reading program at Cherry Valley School in Polson. She enjoyed reading and fiber crafts. She is survived by two daughters, Alice Robb of Liberty, MO, and Anne Angermeyr of Bozeman; and a sister, Lois Anderson of Burnsville, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Bud" Angermeyr; and a sister, Dorothy Gray. Her ashes were scattered over Flathead Lake.
HAVRE, MONTANA: Julie Martell Azure, 49, died October 23, 2003. She was born January 12, 1954 to Julian and Ruth Martell. She was an assistant manager for Hillview Apartments. She enjoyed writing poetry, reading, crossword puzzles, fishing and camping. She is survived by her husband, Robert Azure, Sr.; her children, Kaycee (Rick, Sr.) Clark and Robert (Stacie) Azure, Jr. of Havre; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Nancy (George) Martell of Wolf Point; her brothers, William (Marilyn) Smith of Iowa, and Charles (Lila) Martell and Robert (Serena) Martell, all of Wolf Point; her mother-in-law, Bonnie Nelson; five brothers-in-law, all of Wolf Point; four sisters-in-law, all of Wolf Point; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Valeta Burt; and a niece, Carmen Martell. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery with arrangements by Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home.
POLSON, MONTANA: John Clay Barker, Sr., 65, died December 18, 2004. He was born July 10, 1939 to Jesse and Edna Barker. He liked rebuilding old cars, and worked in demolition for many years. He is survived by his children, Marcie Jean Butte of Polson, John Clay Barker, Jr., of Torrance, CA, and Rusty Michael Barker of Visalia, CA; a brother, Willard Jesse Barker; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Virginia Lee Pickens, Cecil Barker, Aretta Pomeroy, and Larry Wayne Barker.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home.
MILES CITY, MONTANA: Elwyn LeRoy Bastian, 71, died June 4, 2003. He was born December 14, 1931 to Elwyn Lee and Evelyn Ethel Bender Bastian. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the the Korean Conflict. He worked for Heberle Ford and Lohman Motor, and owned a Texaco business until he was forced into early retirement by lingering combat injuries. He is survived by his wife, Marie Derenberger Bastian; a son, Martin Bastian of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Marie and Wayne Friemark of Bozeman; four brothers and their spouses, Charles and Diana of Dickinson, ND, Milton and Kathy of Red Lodge, David of Red Lodge, and Jim and Cathy of Miles City; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma Jean and Alan Chapman of Green Valley, AZ; his nieces and nephews; and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; and two sisters, Grace Jensen and Elvina Birkholv. Services were held at Sacred Heart Church. Interment with military honors was at the Eastern Montana Veterans' Cemetery under the direction of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home.
COLUMBIA FALLS, MONTANA: Bella Marie Gardner Betson, 90, passed away December 19, 2006. She was born August 17, 1916 to George and Anna Fleck. She attended St. Richard's Catholic Church, and enjoyed flower gardening and dancing. She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Ted and Veronica Gardner of Libby, Emil and Bobbi Gardner of Cloverdale, CA, Duywayne and Janine Gardner of Columbia Falls, and Alfred Gardner of Columbia Falls; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Marlene Fleck of Edmonds, OK and Billy Fleck and wife of Douglas, WY; two sisters, Beatrice Chapman of Mitchell, NE and Agnes Rayda of Laramie, WY her nieces and nephews; and her cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Albert T. Gardner and Jerry Betson; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Gardner. Services were held at St. Richard's Catholic Church. Burial was at St. Richard's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Columbia Mortuary.
LIBBY, MONTANA: Vernon L. Birky, 53, died November 11, 1968. He was born June 1, 1915 in Shickley, NE to Joseph and Amanda Birky. He grew up in White Sulphur Springs, MT, and came to the Flathead Valley area in 1928. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Birky; a daughter, Patsy (John) Morris; a son, Steven; six brothers; three sisters; and 3 granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a brother. Interment was at Conrad Memorial Cemetery by Waggener and Campbell Funeral Home.
KALISPELL, MONTANA: Mary Estella Modisett Bjorneby, 70, died January 10, 1952. She was born in Terre Haute, IN on August 22, 1881 to John and Mary Modisett. She was a schoolteacher and a member of the Church of Christ, Scientist. She was survived by a sister, Mrs. Jessie Roberson, of Woodland, WA; and two brothers, Fred Modisett of Havre, and Loren Modisett of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Oliver Bjorneby. Interment was at Conrad Memorial Cemetery by Waggener and Campbell Funeral Home.
RED LODGE, MONTANA: Mary Patricia Bolmeier, 75, died January 6, 2001. Survivors include two daughters, Beth Ann Bolmeier of Conrad, and Nancy Bolmeier Fisher and husband Ian of San Francisco; and 2 grandsons. Services were held at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment was at Red Lodge Cemetery.
KALISPELL, MONTANA: Marion Glenn Bower, 92, died February 22, 1997. He was a carpenter, and had helped organize the Pend Oreille County Fair Rodeo. He was a member of the Pend Oreille Historical Society, the Pend Oreille Hills Saddle Club, and the Kalispell Senior Citizens' Club. FROMBERG, MONTANA: Beula M. Brier, 95, died April 7, 2007. She was born September 19, 1911 to Otto and Dicey Wedemeyer. She is survived by two daughters, Eldora (Bert) Stobie of Noxon, and June (Ronald) Gifford of Newburgh, IN; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. LINCOLN, MONTANA: Alexander Kinnison Burns, 89, died July 18, 2004 at Personal Care Homes of Helena. He was born April 16, 1915 in Great Falls. He lived in Lincoln, MT for over 40 years. He formerly worked for Montana Power Company, and held various other jobs. He served on the Lincoln School Board for 8 years. Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Laura) Burns of Lincoln, and Reece A. (Marilyn) Burns of Manhattan; 3 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Vernie Wing Burns; and a brother, Williams Leo Burns. MISSOULA, MONTANA: Agnes Kari Buttrey, 103, passed away January 20, 2010. She was born in Sievi, Finland on December 19, 1906 to Otto and Henna Kari. She is survived by a son, John (Phyllis); 4 grandsons; 3 great-grandchildren; and her relatives in Finland. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas R.; a brother, Viljo; and a sister,Toini. Inurnment was at the Missoula Cemetery.
GREAT FALLS, MONTANA: Mildred Marie "Millie" Cabbage, 92, died June 16, 2008. She was born July 2, 1915 to John and Annie Mufich. She was a retired legal secretary, and worked for a law firm in Des Moines for over 20 years. She was a bowler, and was inducted into the Montana Women's Bowling Hall of Fame and the Great Falls Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Elks Club, and was of the Roman Catholic faith. She enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, gardening, needlepoint, reading, and crossword puzzles. She is survived by two sons, Mick (Pam) Cabbage of Great Falls, and Rick (Kelly) Cabbage of Helena; a sister, Eleanor Weaver of California; 3 grandchildren; her nieces and nephews; and her cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Jay Cabbage, and a brother, John Mufich. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home.
DILLON, MONTANA: William T. Clucas, 86, died June 1, 2006. He was born December 5, 1919 to John and Annie Clucas. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a brakeman for Union Pacific Railroad before his military service, and eventually retired as a conductor in 1980. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia L. Clucas; a son, Bob (Mary) Clucas of Gig Harbor, WA; two stepsons, Mike (Sue) Jensen of Dillon, and Fran Jensen of Lima; a sister, Freda (Floyd) Stewart of Butte; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bill Clucas; his parents; a sister, Dorothy Clucas; and a brother, John J. Clucas, Jr. Services were held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. CHINOOK, MONTANA: Monica Conrad, 81, died February 15, 2005. She was born August 11, 1923. She is survived by a daughter, Kay Schellin of Chinook; a son, Richard M. Conrad of Chinook; a brother, Francis "Bud" Drewniak of Grass Range; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Conrad. GREAT FALLS, MONTANA: Raymond "Bud" Courchane, 37, died November 16, 1974. He was a construction worker and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of St. Joseph's parish. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Emma Courchane; three sisters, Joyce Russell, Lena LaMere, Dorothy LaMere; and two brothers, Ernie and Theodore Courchane. The rosary was prayed at O'Connor Chapel. Services and burial were at the Rocky Boy Reservation.
PABLO, MONTANA: Nadine Helen Couture, 68, died March 8, 2006. She was born February 4, 1938 to Basil and Vivian DuCharme. She was an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe, and was an administrative assistant for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She worked with the BIA for over 20 years.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. She is survived by her children, Ronnie Couture of Pablo, Wes Couture (Linda) of Billings, Tammy Couture of Reno, NV, and Herbie Couture (Betty) of Great Falls; her sisters, Carol Tenney and Myrna Johnson of Polson; her brothers, Ken "Mick" DuCharme of Seattle, WA, Herb DuCharme of Evaro, Butch DuCharme of Los Angeles, CA, and Toke DuCharme, Beeb DuCharme, Harold "Bud" DuCharme, George DuCharme, and John DuCharme, all of Polson; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gary DuCharme. Interment of cremains was under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home.
HELENA, MONTANA: Wayne M. Dahlstrom, 73, died September 29, 2002. He was born May 18, 1929. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was held as a prisoner of war for 13 months. He owned several small businesses, worked in the oil fields, and also worked at K-Mart. He enjoyed wintering in Arizona, and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Naomi J. Rodacker Dahlstrom; and a brother, Clifford Dahlstrom. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers.
Cremation arrangements were handled by Hagler-Anderson Funeral Home. Interment was at the Montana State Veterans' Cemetery.
KALISPELL, MONTANA: Gladys Mae Baldwin Danielson, 84, died January 14, 2011. She was born in Havre on July 6, 1926 to Ed and Bertha Baldwin. She formerly worked at Sears, and was a former secretary for Modern Woodman Insurance and Northridge Lutheran Church. She was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. She enjoyed flower gardening, camping, fishing, and trips to Arizona. She was a member of the Rose Society. Survivors include a son, Bob Danielson of Kalispell; a sister, Edna, of Kalispell; two brothers, Merle and Jeanne of Kalispell, and Bert and Inez of New York; a sister-in-law, Maggie Danielson; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Fred I. Danielson; her parents; and three brothers, Ray, Mel, and Jerry. Cremation arrangements were handled by Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.
LAUREL, MONTANA: Rose Reiter Deines, 88, died September 1, 2007. She was born April 19, 1919 to Jacob and Katherine Reiter. She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in Laurel, where she was sang in the choir. She formerly sang with a German singing group, and enjoyed flower gardening and cooking. She was a seamstress, and sewed wedding dresses and gowns. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Leuthold; 3 grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; a niece, Loretta Lam; two nephews, Gerald Trupp and Darrell McGillen; a sister-in-law, Irene (Norm) Shorb; and a brother-in-law, Bud Fritzler. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Harry Deines; a daughter, Rosetta; three sisters, Katherine Gettman, Marie Batt, and Betty Trupp; two brothers, Alexander Reiter and Jack Reiter; and a son-in-law, Eddie Leuthold. Services were held at the First Congregational Church. Interment was at the Laurel Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Chapel.
BILLINGS, MONTANA: Josephine Englehart, 75, died November 6, 1971. She was born March 7, 1896 in Yugoslavia. She came to the U.S. at the age of 17, and formerly lived in St. Paul, MN and Wisconsin before coming to Montana. She worked at Bell Telephone for 30 years. Survivors include a son, Fred Engelhart; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Banashak and Mrs. Robert Caturia; a sister in Yugoslavia; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. GREAT FALLS, MONTANA: Flora "Marge" Romero Farkas, 75, died January 20, 2010. She was an administrative assistant and teacher's aide for the Great Falls Public Schools. MANHATTAN, MONTANA: Henry Albert Feddes, 65, died February 13, 1980 at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida. He was born December 11, 1914 in Canada. He was a deputy in Bozeman, and a member of the Christian Reformed Church. He wintered in Florida. Survivors include his wife, Bertina Feddes; four sons, Leon Feddes, Jack Feddes, Bruce Feddes, and Robert Feddes; two daughters, Lois Donahue and Thelma Manley; a brother, Marvin Feddes; three sisters, Nellie Cole, Roelena Venhuizen, and Alice Huttinga; and 11 grandchildren. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park with arrangements in Florida handled by Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home.
BOZEMAN, MONTANA: Carl Lewis Figgins, 87, died February 6, 2007. He was born July 9, 1919 to Willie Arthur and Reba Mae Shelton Figgins. He was a shipyard mechanic, a snowmobile dealer, and a self-employed automotive repairman. He also worked as chief engineering consultant for Allied Manufacturing. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and served as a radar technician on the U.S.S. Wisconsin. He enjoyed music, fishing, hunting and snowmobiles. He was a member of the Elks, the Eagles, and the Snowmobile Association. He is survived by his sons, Mike (Gale) Figgins and Dan (Sandy) Figgins of Bozeman, and Bill (Linda) Figgins of Everett, WA; a daughter, Vivian (Norman) Panasuk of Plevna; a sister, Dorothy Kober of Bozeman; his brothers, Earl and Willie of Bozeman, and Wilbur of Bountiful, UT; his nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Isla Mae Daniel Figgins; a brother, Everett Figgins; a grandson, Rory Figgins; and a sister, Reba Ogle. Interment with military honors was at Sunset Hills Cemetery by Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
BROWNING, MONTANA: Emma Bertha Ground Fish, 85, died July 23, 2008. She was retired, and had worked with the Green Thumb Program. She is survived by her sons, Louis Fish, Jr., Wilbert Fish, Sr., Aloysius Fish, Larry Fish, Davie Fish, and Bruce Fish, all of Browning; three daughters, Lyena Fish, Sally Fish, and Gloria Fish, all of Browning; 29 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Fish, Sr.; and two daughters, Sally Ann Fish and Geridine Fish. Interment was at Willow Creek Cemetery.
BILLINGS, MONTANA: James Fisher, 56, died in February of 1974 in Terry. He was born March 18, 1917 in Lame Deer to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Fisher. He was a line construction foreman with the International Union of Electrical Workers. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth La Franier Fisher; five daughters, Beverly Fisher, Mrs. Francine Miller, Lilly Ann Fisher, Mrs. Rosalie Antone, and Mrs. Ernestine Fisher; seven sons, Dale, Francis, Richard, Ronnie, George, Tommy and Bobby; three sisters, Mrs. Alwitchie Tall Bull, Mrs. Virginia Amsden, and Mrs. Helen Zimmer; three brothers, Russell, Bernadine, and Langburn; and 11 grandchildren. Services were held at St. Labre Catholic Mission in Ashland.
LAUREL, MONTANA: Ronald Dale Fox, 63, died May 15, 2007. He was born February 2, 1944 to Henry and Rose Fox. He was a farmer, and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing and bowling, and served as president of the Laurel Men's Bowling Association. Just prior to his passing, he had bowled in the state tournament in Butte. Survivors include three brothers, Randy (Sue), Larry (Eileen), and Terry (Dodie); a sister-in-law, Laura; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his a brother, Jon; and his parents. Burial with military honors was at the Laurel Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Chapel.
KALISPELL, MONTANA: Charles Phillip "Chuck" Frach died
Sepember 22, 1986. He was born January 27, 1913 to Elizabeth Hoegner Frach and Phillip C. Frach, both German immigrants. He was a mechanic, and owned several gas stations, including Frach and Son Conoco, and a Texaco station. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and served in Okinawa. He was a square dance caller, and enjoyed collecting rocks, minerals and gemstones. He was survived by his wife, Dorothy Frach; a son, James Frach (d. 2002); a daughter, Carol Ann; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Norene "Peggy" Frach. He was buried next to Peggy Frach at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
KALISPELL, MONTANA: Margaret Norene Curtis Frach, 50, died July 6, 1968. She was born January 29, 1918 in Kalispell to Jefferson and Isabelle Curtis. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church. She enjoyed square and round dancing, and was past president of the Oro Y Plata Club. Survivors include her husband, Charles P. "Chuck" Frach; two children, James P. Frach and Carol Hoiland; two brothers, James Curtis and Jack Curtis; two sisters, Edith Kellar and Iva Wells; and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Interment was at Glacier Memorial Gardens under the direction of Waggener and Campbell Funeral Home.

She was born in Kautz, Russia on April 6, 1915 to Jacob and Eva Schreiner. As a child, she came to America with her family, and became a U.S. citizen in 1938. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry H. Frank; a daughter, Dolores Dietz; a son, Bruce H. Frank; a sister; and two brothers. KALISPELL, MONTANA: Ernest Edwin Hankinson, 85, died March 9, 2007. He was born February 23, 1922 to Earnest and Gertrude Peterson Hankinson. He was a heavy equipment operator with the Flathead County Road Department for 25 years, and formerly worked for Kalispell Lumber Company. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a charter member of the West Valley Fire Department with 20 years of service, and was a 30-year member of the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice Exley Hankinson; his children, Karen Tobel of Helena, and Edwin and Jolen Hankinson and Lonnie and Julie Hankinson, all of Kalispell; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. DILLON, MONTANA: Rasmus Hansen, 88, died August 6, 1970 at Barrett Hospital in Dillon. He was born March 16, 1882 in Denmark. He came to the U.S. in 1902, and was a longtime rancher at Medicine Lodge. He also ranched at Sheep Creek Basin and on the Blacktail. He attended the Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Danish Brotherhood. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lee Martinell; three sons, Dr. Harry Hansen, Leonard Hansen, and Fred Hansen; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Howard Hansen; a niece; a nephew; and 15 grandchildren. POLSON, MONTANA: Dolores M. Hunsucker, 84, died December 3, 2008. She was born March 6, 1924 to Leopold A. Schmakiet and Wilhemina "Minnie" Ever Schmakiet. She served with the United States Coast Guard during World War II. She formerly worked for Rubenstein's Furniture in Eugene, OR, and later ran the KM Ranch in Whitefish with her husband; eventually, the couple was farming in Polson. Buttrey Company, and also for Montgomery Ward. She was a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church, and was active with the United Methodist Women and various church committees. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and the outdoors. HARLEM, MONTANA: Knute Kulbeck, 78, died December 9, 2003. He was born June 26, 1925 in Vermillion, Alberta to William and Margaret Hall. He was adopted by Edwin "Bat" and Flossie Kulbeck. He was a dairy farmer and rancher. He was the former owner of Vita Rich Dairy. He served on the Harlem Irrigation Board for 20 years, and also the Milk River Joint Board of Control, the Milk River Riders Saddle Club, and the Harlem School Board. He enjoyed horse racing, watching sports, hunting and playing cards. He is survived his sons, Terry Kulbeck of Ukiah, CA, and Charlie (Julie) and Tim (Tana) Kulbeck, all of Harlem; a sister, Janet Matyanchuck of Canada; two brothers, Harold (Dorothy) Hall of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Bill Shaw of Canada; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardele Berg Kulbeck. Services were held at the Harlem High School gymnasium. Burial was at Harlem Cemetery by Edwards Funeral Home.

He owned Marble's Repair Service for 25 years, and worked with the Conrad School transportation program for 23 years. He had also worked at Miracle Buick and Wright Chevrolet. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed sports, ice fishing, and going to Echo Lake. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elda Gullich Marble; a daughter, Doreen (Jim) King of Conrad; two sons, Jerry Marble of Missoula, and George Marble of Helena; a daughter-in-law, Toni Ann Marble; two brothers, Joe Love of Great Falls, and Merle Love of Lincoln; his grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and was a recipient of the National Freedom Foundation award. She attended Grace Methodist Church, and was a Sunday School superintendent for 17 years, as well as a choir director. She was past president of the Women's Society of Christian Service. Survivors include two brothers, Bert Nicholson and Dale Nicholson; four sisters, Esther Ferrero (her twin), Mrs. Morris Kair, Maude Street, and Mrs. S.B. Jackson; her nieces and nephews; and her great-nieces and great-nephews. Services were held at Grace United Methodist Church. Interment was at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
CHESTER, MONTANA: John Osler died January 22, 1906 at Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls. He was born in Breckin, Scotland. He came to the U.S. in the late 1880s and lived in Minnesota prior to coming to Montana. He owned a ranch. He was survived by his wife, Mary Keith Osler; two daughters, Mrs. John McDowell, and Mrs. John Vaver; two sons, George and John; and two brothers and a sister in Scotland. Burial was at the Chester Cemetery.
BOZEMAN, MONTANA: Steven Richard Palmer, 51, died September 30, 2008. He was born July 19, 1957 to Sherwin Eugene and Lois Kjose Palmer. Steve was an auto, farm machinery, and parts salesman. He was a Mason and a past Worthy Patron and Grand Officer with the Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his parents of Cut Bank; two sisters, Linda Palmer of Deer Lodge and Helen Duffy of Billings; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Bob Rader of Butte; a brother, David Palmer of Cut Bank; and his nieces and nephews. ASHLAND, MONTANA: Maurice "Morey" Parker, 41, died October 30, 1974. He was born March 28, 1933 in Ashland. He was an environmental health aide with Public Health Services, and was a water and bacteriological inspector. He was a truant officer at St. Labre for 8 years, and also worked in septic tank installation and inspection. He was active in reservation affairs. BILLINGS, MONTANA: Magdalena E. "Lena" Peters, 76, died March 18, 2001. She was born April 28, 1924 to Felix and Matilda Ott. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. HELENA, MONTANA: William H. "Bill" Plank, 83, died February 23, 2008. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was held as a prisoner of war in Germany. He worked on oil rigs, and also at Columbia Paint. Additionally, he was an auditor for the State of Montana. He visited patients in nursing homes, at St. Peter's Hospital, and at their residences, and also volunteered with the YMCA, the Boy Scouts, and his church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ballinger Plank; a daughter, Jane (Doug) Thiemens of Auburn, WA; two sons, Matt Plank of Helena, and Mark Plank of Lynnwood, WA; his grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou of Casper, WY; three sisters-in-law, Martha Parenteau, Alice Spaulding, and Pat Ballinger; twelve nieces and nephews; and his grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Olive Plank; two brothers-in-law, Newell Glarner and George Ballinger; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Glarner. Services were held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors was at the Montana State Veterans' Cemetery.
SIDNEY, MONTANA: Olive Qualley, 81, died December 3, 2009. She was born March 7, 1928 to Alvin and Nettie Pierce Burgess. She enjoyed music, reading, and going to garage sales. She was an active member of Sidney Lutheran Brethren Church, where she took part in the Christian Women's Club and Bible studies. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Qualley; a son, Michael (Chris) Qualley of Sidney; her daughters, Carol (Rob) Michels of Williston, ND, Corinne (Alan) Johnson of Billings, and Patricia (Wes) Black of Williston, ND; a sister, Viola (Lowell) Qualley of Sidney; a brother, Alan Burgess of Sidney; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. BROWNING, MONTANA: Aloysius Thomas Racine, 75, died June 15, 2008. He was a retired transit driver and a U.S. Army veteran. GLENDIVE, MONTANA: Julia Sand, 71, died December 2, 2002 at the Glendive Medical Center. She was born on May 18, 1931 in Lincoln, NE to Jess H. and Martha Vosler Tuttle. She was a secretary for doctors' offices, insurance companies and the Burlington Northern Railroad, from which she retired in 1982. She enjoyed fishing, camping, crocheting and knitting. HAVRE, MONTANA: Milo M. Sonsteng, 89, died November 4, 2000. He was born January 29, 1912 to Arnold and Clara Huseby Sonsteng. He retired from Great Northern Railroad after over 30 years of service. He was a musician, and enjoyed playing violin. He played music for dances and other community events. GREAT FALLS, MONTANA: Beulah M. Gallogly Stanish, 89, died August 25, 2009 at a local hospital. She was born December 18, 1919 in Fairview, MT to James and Josephine Gallogly. She worked at J.C. Penney for 16 years, and had also worked for the Montana Oil Journal and at an accounting office. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd A. TROY, MONTANA: Kenneth L. Stapley, 82, died October 6, 2007. He was born August 9, 1925 to Elis and Myrtle Morse Stapley. He was a decorated U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He later enlisted in the Army and worked with a coastal survey crew. He worked in floor covering for 30 years in California. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. COLUMBIA FALLS, MONTANA: Gordon Neil "Joe" Triplett, 61, died November 29, 2004. He was born May 8, 1943 to Buck and Ann Triplett. He was a wilderness guide and a packer, and also worked at ranches and sawmills. He grew Christmas trees and ran a post-and-pole business. He later worked for several outfitters in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. HARDIN, MONTANA: Robert A. "Bob" Weber, 83, died August 1, 2007 at his residence. He was born August 1, 1924 in Cardwell, MT to Lawrence and Hulda Salmon Weber. He had attended Montana State College in Bozeman, and held a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees. He was an extension agent with the Bureau of Indian Affairs on the Crow and Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservations with over 20 years of service. He was an agriculture instructor at Little Big Horn College, and also taught in Red Lodge. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a corpsman with the 2nd Marine Division on Saipan, Tinian and Okinawa, and later with the occupational forces in Japan. He was a member of the First Congregational Church. He was member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed gunsmithing and gun collecting. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Young Weber; his sons, Reeve of Wyoming, Shane of New Jersey, and Nathan Weber of Texas; a daughter, Susan (Derrick) Schneider of Billings; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawrence Weber; and a sister, Clara Nadine "Pat" Robinson. in death. Inurnment with military honors was at Fairview Cemetery by Bullis Mortuary.
RED LODGE, MONTANA: Mildred Weydt, 76, died February 28, 2000. She was born December 27, 1923 to Harley W. and Mabel E. Weydt. She helped with the family business, Harley's Cottages Motel, until the motel was sold. She enjoyed going to the Red Lodge Senior Citizens' Center. She also worked as a custodian with the Laurel Schools and cleaned houses. Later, she was a cook at Canyon Creek School. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening and flowers. She attended Pilgrim Congregational Church. She is survived by a son, James (Darlene) Wilhelm of Portland, OR; her daughters, Susanna (Darlene) Wilhelm, Judy (Edward) Maples, and Lois (Gary) Crable, all of Billings; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. GREAT FALLS, MONTANA: Arthur L. "Artie" Wong, 58, died January 30, 2010. He was a restaurant worker. He was born August 24, 1951. He was a Bison, Grizzly and Vikings football fan.
